The lowdown: The Academic are going on tour! Design a show poster for one of their gigs and have a chance to see them live - time to get creating!

The Academic have announced an exciting tour in April next year, and we’re asking you to design a poster for one of their dates. You can find all of the tour dates here - To enter, please choose one of the dates and venues and design a poster to publicise that night. Make sure to take inspiration from the band, the venue, and their music!

The prizes:

2x selected creators will be chosen to win tickets to see The Academic live, and also receive a drawing tablet. Not too shabby.


  • Here are some examples of gig posters that we love to help inspire you!

  • You could draw portraits of the band, visually represent one of their songs or go for something completely new on your poster - let your imagination run wild! We want to see your ideas!

  • You can find the tour dates here - remember to only select one gig, in one city! Perhaps you could represent that location on your poster?

  • Before starting your creative brief please watch some music videos and interviews with The Academic to get a better sense of their aesthetic and style.

  • You must be aged 13 - 18 to participate in this brief as the entries will be shown on social media.

  • Please make sure you are happy to have your work made public on our social channels before entering.

Do's
  • Do be daring and adventurous with your designs - there are no wrong/bad ideas.




  • Do take inspiration from The Academic's website, have a listen to their music, and check out their gig dates.

  • Do share more than one submission - If you want to, you can submit up to 15 designs - we know creativity isn’t limited. Remember to send all design ideas separately.

  • Do follow The Academic on socials to be part of an exciting, creative community.

  • Do follow Untitled on to be part of a growing creative community.

  • Do share this with your school, teachers, friends, and family and spread the word.

Dont's

  • Don’t submit if you are under-13 as you need to be legally allowed to go on social media platforms - and lots of the work will be uploaded on socials.


2 submissions will be chosen by The Academic and their team at Universal Music Group as Selected Young Creators meaning:

  • YOUR work will be noticed by the band and their label!

  • You’ll receive a drawing tablet!

  • You’ll receive 3x Tickets to see The Academic live.

    • Please note we will not be providing transport and accommodation.

  • You’ll have their work posted on Untitled social channels.

2 submissions will also be chosen by The Academic and their team at Universal Music Group as Finalists, and each will:

  • receive a £30 voucher for music or art supplies.

  • have their work posted on Untitled social channels.

When the brief closes for creator selection on 11th January 2022, the Untitled team will review all submissions to date and announce the Final Selected Creators.

'Hey there, we’re The Academic - we are excited to announce that in April we will be going on tour! And with that, we are looking for you guys to get involved and design us some creative posters to help promote some of the venues we will be playing at. Good Luck!'

The Academic are an Irish indie rock band, formed in Rochfortbridge, County Westmeath in 2013. The band consists of Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin, and brothers Matthew and Stephen Murtagh. Their début studio album, Tales from the Backseat, was released in January 2018, entering the Irish Albums Chart at number one. They are currently signed to Capitol Records which is part of Universal Music Group.

  • Who can submit? Anyone aged 13-18 with a Young Creator account.

  • What do I need to submit? You can submit your design in the form of a digital drawing, graphic, or illustration (i.e. using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or ProCreate). You could draw, print, or paint your design by hand and submit it via a scan. If you are creating your design on a computer or tablet, the file should be exported as a .jpeg or pdf, and be no bigger than 10MB. It must be created by you (please don't submit anyone else's work, including friends, adults, or images you found online).

  • What should my submission include? Your work and the Permission Agreement signed by your parent or legal guardian. We may contact you or your parents if this is missing. Both items are required for a submission to be complete.

  • You can use the work you submit any way you like including school and in your creative portfolio.

  • How do I submit? At the top of this page, click 'Submit', and upload your work as a JPEG or PDF. All files must be max. size 10 MB. You can submit up to 15 times.

  • Once the creative brief closes, Untitled will review all complete submissions and choose the Selected Creators. A complete submission includes your work, signed Permission Agreement, meets the creative brief, terms & conditions, and Official Rules.

  • Selected Creators agree to allow Untitled to use their design across online and social channels (this is an exclusive, worldwide, digital and social license).

  • Make sure the email address on your Untitled profile is correct (this will be yours or your parent/guardian's) so we can contact you about incomplete submissions or if you are a Selected Creator.

  • All complete submissions will become visible on Untitled when Selected Creators are announced. At this time, your submission and your Untitled display name will be visible to the Untitled community.

  • Please respond to Untitled emails from hello@untitledbytlnt.com within 72 hours. If we don't hear back from you or your parent/legal guardian, you will forfeit the incentive detailed in 'The Opportunity'.

  • Untitled may remove any inappropriate, offensive, and harmful submissions from anywhere on the Untitled platform.

  • View the full Official Rules for this creative brief. Only Young Creators (aged 13-18) can participate in this creative brief.
