Creators Selected On
July 9, 2021

Fulham FC Foundation are extremely impressed by the amazing submissions, it was a very hard decision to choose the winners as everyone’s work was so great. The reason why we chose the selected creators and the finalist is because they really understood the brief and made us truly understand what the topic of mental health means to them.

Thank you to everyone that submitted, it was all amazing work. Well done!

For Mental Health Awareness Week, Fulham FC Foundation wants you to write how you would talk to your friends about mental health
Why? Fulham FC Foundation want to lift up the voices of young people on this important issue and your writing will inspire an animation from an award-winning creative company
When? Submit your work by Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 5:00 PM BST
What's in it for me 🤑? Tickets to a Fulham FC game next season, a stadium walk-around next season, match-worn, signed jersey and more...

Up for it? Read on for more detail on how to get involved.

At Fulham FC Foundation, they aim to empower the voices of young people.

That's why they would like you to submit a piece of creative writing with a drawing about mental health. It should be around 150 words (max. 250) on how you would talk to your friends/someone who is of a similar age to you about mental health. It could be based on a conversation you've had with someone, how you are feeling, what you think people your age struggle with most, or how you think we can help support others.

Your ideas will help Fulham FC Foundation create a storyboard for their mental health animation project. Your art will help them understand the language that you use when talking to your mates about struggles with mental health, so we can help as many young people as possible.
Read the below before getting started

Your submission should be in two parts.
  • PART 1: THE WRITING This should be around 150 words (max: 250) in 1st person, so that is when you use "I". An example of this could be: "I find it easier to talk to people about difficult things one on one instead of in a big group".
Wondering how to get started? Here are some questions, thought starters and warm-up exercises you can follow to get that pen moving.
  • PART 2: THE DRAWING Sketch an image that best represents your creative writing piece, for example, two cartoon young people having a conversation, an image of a brain, or an image of what you think best represents mental health and how to create awareness.
    • Let us know the meaning behind the sketch/drawing and what it means to you. Have arrows pointing to different parts of the sketch/drawing with a short description.

Here's is a template you can use to create your work.
  • For your submission please make sure it is readable if you are handwriting, if it helps you can type it out
